Application

The SQ 0x04 and SQ 0x14 are microprocessor-controlled synchronoscopes. They are available as pure displays or with built-in release relay and are used for manual or semi-automatic synchronisations. The integrated release relay is activated as soon as the set synchronisation conditions are fulfilled. The SQ 0x14 also has an LC display which displays the fixed mains voltage UBB and the generator voltage UGEN, as well as the two frequencies fBB and fGEN or the mains frequency fBB and phase difference Δφ. The SQ 0x14 can thus replace two separate voltmeters and two frequency meters.

Function Description

The instrument has 24 circularly arranged LEDs that serve to display the momentary phase difference with a resolution of 20°. In the synchronisation range between -20° and +20°, the resolution is increased (5° el. degrees). A frequency difference of the input voltages (UGEN and UBB) of more than 3 Hz is indicated by three flashing LEDs in the FAST range (fGEN > fBB) or in the SLOW range (fGEN < fBB). The green SYNC. LED lights up when the synchronisation conditions are given. A red ΔU LED lights up when the voltage difference exceeds the set value. On the back of the instrument there are three potentiometers for setting the synchronisation conditions:

  • for setting the permissible phase difference Δφ
  • for setting the permissible voltage difference ΔU
  • for setting the switch-on delay of the relay.

The enabling relay is activated (pulse or permanent contact) when the phase difference and the voltage difference are within the set ranges for the duration of the set delay time. The permanent contact opens again when only one value is outside this range. The activation of the relay is indicated by the SYNC LED of the instrument.

The synchronoscopes are available

  • without built-in release relay
  • with release relay (pulse or permanent contact)
  • with the "dead network" function
  • The enabling relay can also be activated if the generator voltage is greater than 80% of the nominal voltage UN and the mains voltage UBB is less than the programmed offset value. In the factory, this offset
  • value is set to 20% of the nominal voltage.
  • with the function "dead mains + "dead generator".
  • The enabling relay can also be activated if one of the voltages (UBB or UGEN) is greater than 80% of the nominal voltage UN and the other voltage (UBB or UGEN) is less than the programmed offset value.
  • With status output (optional)
  • The status output (open collector) monitors the microprocessor system. It becomes high-impedance in the event of a microprocessor error.
  • The SQ 0x14 shows two voltages (UBB, UGEN) and two frequencies (fBB, fGEN) on the LC display. If the difference between fBB and fGEN is less than 0.02 Hz, the phase difference Δφ is displayed.
