Description

The SDQ three-phase field direction indicators in panel-mounted housing are used to monitor the phase sequence in three-phase grids. They are available in different versions and for different mains voltages and frequencies. All versions of the phase sequence indicators have a connection for the neutral conductor. However, this must only be connected in the SDQxx/P and SDQxx/PR versions, as otherwise the (possibly still existing) third phase voltage will not be displayed if two phase voltages fail. For this reason, only the SDQxx and SDQxx/R versions are suitable for use in a three-wire network (without neutral conductor).

Function

In the simplest version SDQ72 or SDQ96, the "correct" (i.e. the right) rotating field is indicated by a green area LED, a left rotating field by a red area LED. If a phase voltage fails, there is no longer a complete rotating field and both LEDs light up with reduced brightness. The SDQxx/P version is equipped with three additional area LEDs which serve to monitor the three-phase voltages (L1, L2 and L3). The SDQxx/R version includes a relay that is activated when a right-hand rotating field is present. The SDQxx/PR version includes both the three LEDs for monitoring the phase voltage and the relay.
