Description

The current flowing through the shunt generates a voltage drop which can be measured with a measuring device connected in parallel. By connecting the shunt resistor and the measuring device in parallel, it is possible to use voltage measuring devices for current measurement or to extend the measuring range of existing current measuring devices.
