Description

The MC 740 is used for measuring and monitoring electrical quantities in single-phase or three-phase networks. The measurement is carried out by quickly scanning the rms values of current and voltage. The built-in microprocessor then calculates the resulting quantities (voltage, current, frequency, energy, power, power factor, distortion factor, phase angle, etc.) from the previously measured values. The instrument has the possibility of setting over 32 event messages. The MC 740 can be set remotely via the interface (serial RS 232/RS 485 or Ethernet) and the measured values can also be displayed. The instrument also serves as an energy meter for recording costs in various tariffs. The tariff input and the internal tariff clock can be set individually. When setting the tariff clock, one can choose between four time periods and four work groups, or the energy price for each time period and each work group. In addition, 20 marks for setting holidays or days on which special rules apply are possible. As an electricity meter, the MC 740 records the energy in all quadrants in four tariffs.
